Beyond the Classroom
It is often said that childhood is the best time in a person’s life. They often leave out how terrifying it can be to be a child, to feel alone and unsure of who they are. That is why it is so imperative to have a safe place while growing up, that can ground you while teaching you to grow into the person who God created you to be. For me, that place was Belleville Christian School.
I can confidently say I would not be the person I am today without the educators and community of BCS. The small school environment provides an opportunity for educators to meet students’ needs and understand their learning styles that are often missed in the public system.
The staff at BCS were positive, encouraging, and patient with me during my most challenging moments. I was not always the easiest student to deal with, but that did not stop my teachers from going the extra mile to ensure I had the best supports in place to succeed.
As a person identified with a learning disability, the teachers connecting and understanding my needs was invaluable to my development. With my teachers working with me, I was able to overcome these challenges.
During these trying times, it is important to have a safe and nurturing place where children can grow with God. I am grateful for my time at BCS, and your support will ensure many other children have a chance to reach their full potential.
