Quinte Christian High School
History
Quinte Christian High School first opened its doors in September 1977 in the basement of a small medical building on William Street in Belleville. Our student body numbered nineteen grade nine students.
1977 – 1979
Two years later the school was expanded to include grade 11 which meant a move to the second floor of a finance company on Front Street.
1979 – 1980
In 1980, a new school was built on Pinnacle St. to house 150 students, and a four-year program was adopted. In 1984, a fully equipped gymnasium complex was added, and 1989 saw the addition of a new wing which included an office, science lab, art room and two classrooms. In 1999 a shop was built in the school to provide for a full technical program, and a new gym floor was installed.
1980 – 2006
In the following few years, the community expressed a desire for a better facility with more extensive program possibilities, and plans were drafted for our current facility on Wallbridge-Loyalist Rd. After many volunteer hours and gifts in kind, the new state-of-the-art facility was finished in June 2006. The grand opening took place in September 2006, and the staff, students and community continue to celebrate this incredible gift of God.
